Partly gold lacquered suit-of-armour with red cords (kurenai’ito odoshi dômaru).
A large hoshikabuto-helmet with large fukikaeshi, connected antlers (kuwagata) and a large wooden maedate in the shape of a dragon. The helmet has three connected neck guards (shikoro). A large iron open-mouth facial mask with a broad noose piece and a grey moustache (resseibo mengu) and a three piece gorget (nodowa). Large seven piece shoulder-guards (sode). The brocade sleeves have Japanese mail (kusari) and are also protected with metal plates on the upper and lower arm. The bucket-shaped cuirass is a two piece dômaru consisting of vertical laced gilded metal plates (yokohagi okegawa); above decorated with a strip of ‘smoked leather’. From the cuirass hangs left a kyûbi-no-ita (the smoked leather ‘dove-tail piece’) and right a sendan-no-ita (with red laced cords) plates as an extra protecting against arrows. At the back of the cuirass a hook with a large orange tassel. From the cuirass hangs a skirt in eight sections (kusazuri) and the hip pieces are protected by laced gilded metal strips (itahaidate). Gilded greaves (dosuneate) with a knee piece (tateage) protect the lower legs and are connected with ‘bear-skin’ shoes (tsuranuki). With a brocade waistband. In a black store box for a suit-of-armour (yoroibako).
