Nice sculpture group, depicting two standing mythological figures, probably the goddess Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom, strategic warfare, justice and victory, and Cupid. Cupid, the young god of love, was regularly punished for the situations he caused by shooting his (love) arrows. Here Minerva seems to reprimand him.
This rare group was made in Renaissance-style, probably in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The image is in reasonably good condition with a beautiful polychromy. A few fingers and an arm are missing.
