In exceptionally beautiful condition.
Beautiful old ELGIN from the 1930s/1940s with an oblong Art Deco case.
Made in 10 kt gold-plated...a thick layer of gold over solid nickel.
With few visible signs of wear...!
The case is 23.5 mm wide... (excluding crown), from tip to tip measures 37 mm.
At that time is was an usual men's model.
Dial is cream-coloured and has overlaid gold numerals and gold hands.
In near-perfect condition.
Small second hand.
Steel click bottom...marked "Elgin" on the inside.
The glass is beautifully curved and like new.
'Golden' crown that winds easily.
The original Elgin movement...cal.714...has 19 jewels.
It is clean and oiled and runs nicely on time.
The average deviation shown on the digital testing device is approx. 20 seconds per 24 hours (snapshot).
Fitted with a green, never worn PU leather strap in crocodile look.
Suited for wrists of up to over 20 cm in circumference.
In short: a classic old-fashioned ELGIN... clearly not a modern watch.
