Great Antique japanese katana signed nakago Kanemitsu saku 兼光作 mounted on a high quality original edo koshirae mounting.
Hand made forged for a second world war (Rikugun-Chūsa) Lieutenant Colonel and was used in second wold war, IIt is a very heavy and long katana made for a High rank Japanesse officer, a great opportunity for take a piece of war history and samurai too.
Blade is overall in very good condition. Is difficult to found Guntos with a profesional polish without many rust or scratches and signed with good condition. Please see the close-up pictures for amazing details.
Take a special apraisal to this very clear and suberb Hammon and perfect profesional polish on it. You can see perfectly the tamahagane steel, hada grains and forging patterns, the tamahagane waves are beautiful and perfect.
The original antique koshirae is a magnificent example of edo period work. The fuchi and Kashira are made with gold inlays of the god of the sea Ryūjin or Ryōjin (龍神),also known as Ōwatatsumi and shisha. The inlays are made by hand with impresive reliefs and in very good condition. The stuba has a beautiful example of edo work too with proper age. The red saya and the black same make a beautiful and rare piece very hard to found in this condition
Blade is in very good condition due to aging. Not rust, not nicks, not hagire and not fatal damage, of course. Vintage Bag included.
