Magnificent British bugle / trumpet from the battalion of the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers. The soldiers who walked around with this bugle fought great battles in WW1 near Somme in France and at Ypres in Belgium. After the war, these bugles with all their signal tones were also used as hunting horns.
Super decorative item with history!
Red copper with brass parts and regimental logo.
The spelling of the word ‘Welsh’ with an ‘S’ indicates fabrication before 1920 when the word was changed to ‘Welch’ with a ‘C’.
The bugle is in used but beautiful condition, excellently playable and entirely complete! The full melancholic sound revives military times.
