Jorf is a prolific quarry of outstanding trilobites, almost all of them new to science. In last years, gorgeous specimens and slabs have been found here.
The silica at Jorf is colourful and the trilobites display that unique colour. The translucent rock is very hard to separate from the exoskeletons. The work is only possible to very few expert skilled hands. Often we see extremely rare specimens over-blasted, which is a shame for such rare beauties.
No restoration, except for residual cracks on the exoskeletons and matrix.
These undescribed Acantophyge-like trilobites show short pygidial spines and long-sized genal ones. The general form is compact. In the near future, two or three species from this genus/complex might be described from Jorf.
The Austerops trilobite exhibits one astonishing ventral preparation in its natural position.
