Restoration: The tip of the 2nd left pygidial spine, the tip of the big right genal spine and the tip of the 3rd right thoracic spine, were missing and were reconstructed. This is a very natural situation resulting from quarrying work. The rest of this huge specimen suffered no restoration.
A plate like this, on this magnificent display, is a real once-in-a-life piece. Atchana quarry, after more of 30 years being exploited, is now each time deeper and diggers tend to avoid it. My prevision is that Atchana perfect plates will be almost impossible to get from now on.
The freestanding displays of the spines is a laborious and very skilled work of dozens (sometimes hundreds) of laboratory hours, just accessible to very few people in all the world.
