Beautiful Katana forged by hand by Japanese master.
Sanehira was a well-known gendai swordsman from Tokyo who was born in 1915. His real name was Sanehira Kato, who learned from Horii Taneaki, the father of Sanehira, Kanekuni, and Sanekuni. Sanehira worked as a Jumei-tosho in the Japanese Army in the days before the war. In postwar Japan, Sanehira won the Nusen Prize 13 times at the annual sword-making competition organized by the NBTHK. He once succeeded his father's name, Kanekuni, as Segundo in 1945. This name was given to his eldest son in 1965.
The blade is polished, with a golden habaki
Blade length: 72.4 cm.
Sori: 1.2 cm o.
Width at the hamachi: 2.5 cm or 1.38 inches.
It was Showa period. February 1972. Katana shinogi-zukuri.
The broad mihaba and the short kissaki create a strong atmosphere.
Jitetsu: Masame combines with itame-hada. Jinie appears on the surface.
