Powerful cavalry sabre, brass knuckle-bow hilt with two bars and a narrow central iron, acceptance marks on the outside. Wooden grip sleeve covered with dark leather, attached to it are two brass ‘olives’. The hilt has signs of wear and tear. The outer bar has a slight hairline crack, it has probably taken a hit, but all of the pieces are firmly seated. Wooden sleeve with occasional woodworm holes. Heavily curved single-edged blade with a wide fuller on both sides. Acceptance mark on the ricasso. The scabbard and sabre have matching numbers, the blade has a lovely, smooth texture. Heavy iron scabbard with suspension loops, control stamps also on the drag. This sabre is an invaluable testimony to the Napoleonic wars in the first period of the empire.
