Descripción
Antiguo Egipto Loza vidriada Amuleto de la tríada de Osirian
Late Dynastic Period, Circa 715-332 BC

Superb, turquoise glazed faience amulet depicting three members of the Osirian family. Harpocrates (the infant Horus), wearing the sidelock of youth, stands at the centre, flanked on the left by Nephthys (sister of Osiris) and on the right by his mother, Isis (sister-wife of Osiris). This amulet represents those closest to Osiris. The trio hold hands and all stride forwards with their left leg. The two goddesses wear their appropriate headdresses: that of Nephthys represents a house with a basket on top, whilst Isis wears the Throne of Egypt Headdress. The reverse is unworked. The item is mounted on a custom-made stand.

Measurements: CIrca 2.4cm width, circa 6.1cm height (with stand)

Provenance: From an early British 20th century collection.
