Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva 1947, 1960 and 1961. Three historical bottles, from renown Spanish producer R. Lopez de Heredia. Very sought after vintages, as the Gran Reserva is only produced in outstanding years, only produced in 23 occasions since 1920.
Tondonia Gran Reserva 1947 offers a rare experience to enjoy traditional Rioja with maturity. Practicing traditional winemaking at its finest, López de Heredia and its winemaking has changed very little since its 1877 founding; the family adheres to a doctrine blueprinted in the 1880s, still making wine only from their own vineyards, using natural yeasts, long ageing in wood, and no filtration at bottling.
According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A visit to the venerable Bodega López de Heredia, located in the Rioja Alta capital of Haro, is akin to entering a time machine taking you back 100 years."
Kept in underground temperature and humidity-controlled cellar. Any import costs outside the EU (including UK and Switzerland) are entirely the buyer's responsibility.
