The historic Tenute San Fabiano, owned by Conti Borghini Baldovinetti de' Bacci, are situated one kilometre far from the circle of the Medici walls on the hills surrounding Arezzo.
The first document attesting to the presence of vineyards in the property dates back to 1452: it is related to a sale of a vineyard from Francesco de' Bacci to finance the frescoes "The Legend of the True Cross" painted by the artist Piero della Francesca of the Bacci family chapel located in the apse of the Basilica of San Francesco.
The activity today includes the production of fine wines and oil, coming from the four companies located in Tuscany in the Chianti area and in the Vino Nobile area of Montepulciano.
Noteworthy is the extra virgin olive oil of San Fabiano, coming from the hills of Central Tuscany. A blend of Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo, cold pressed with milling within 7 hours, it is a little filtered oil, with a green yellow colour with golden reflections, clear. The taste has a typically Tuscan, spicy and bitter aftertaste (artichoke), with a prevailing soft finish.
