Magnificent Buddha Head in dry lacquerware, from the 16th century, Ava period, Burma.
With a few remaining traces of gilding, this head of great refinement perfectly represents the splendid features of the Buddhas from the Ava period. With long elongated lobes, very finely carved mouth and nose and half-closed chiselled eyes.
