Suishinshi Masahide (1750 - 1825)
Founder of Shinshinto period and a very important swordsmith.
This is an early work featuring the rare Toranba Hamon, impressive with loads of activity showing.
The Koshirae has been worn, shows signs of use, check photos for condition.
Silk bags will be provided for Koshirae and Shirasaya.
The blade obtained NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper for it's high grade.

Ura Mei: Tenmei 7 nen 8 gatsu hi (August 1787)

Polish: Fresh polish executed in Japan 2019

2 Gold foiled Habaki both for Koshirae and Shirasaya

Blade length: 45.6 cm
Edo period, Tenmei era.
Jigane: Ko-itame Hada well grained with Jinie
Hamon: Nie-deki, from bottom to top Suguha and Gunome-midare mixed with Toranba. Nioikuchi appears.
Koshirae:
Saya: Black Roiro Kizami
Tsuba : Shakudo, Nanako plate, flowers, rope pattern on the rim.
Menuki: Flowers
Kozuka: Kogai: Shakudo Nanako, horsetail plant.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo Nanako plate.
