‘Schaal’ is a unique glass blown artwork This statement piece consists of a bubble of hot glass which was blown against a composition of round metal objects. It was later transformed in the cold shop through precise cutting and polishing techniques, revealing a stunning lustre that adds a touch of sophistication to any space. Handmade and blown by the Dutch artist Bibi Smit. When placed on a lighter colour surface, this object unveils an iconic beautiful shadow. Bibi Smit (Netherlands, 1965) is an artist known for creating sculptures that explore the beauty and powerful force of nature. By being able to control all processes in the glassblowing studio, her work shows an acute attention to detail and technique. She lives and works in Loosdrecht.
