The Batârd-Montrachet appellation covers an area of ​​more than 11 hectares. The wines that hold this designation of origin are produced in the municipalities of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. These wines are part of the five Grand Crus of the Côte de Beaune, along with Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet and Montrachet. Grown between 240 and 250 meters above sea level, the vines are located on clay-limestone soils, with brown limestone soils and clay soils. Among the most prestigious wines of Burgundy, Bâtard-Montrachet are Chardonnays that are generally intense, full-bodied and of great depth.
