This is a beautiful and rare early Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar lens, made in Germany around 1912–1913, during the pre–World War I production period.
It’s a 30 cm (300 mm) f/4.5 large-format lens in a heavy black enamel brass barrel, inscribed “XII²” on the side.
A genuine collector’s piece representing the early era of Zeiss optical craftsmanship, featuring the legendary Tessar 4-element / 3-group design by Paul Rudolph.
