This is a set of damask linen table linen with 6 matching napkins measuring a generous
80cm x 65cm.
PLEASE NOTE;
There is a further set of 6 napkins in the same auction in case you wish to have full set.
The red borders have a Chestnut design with both showing the leaves and the conkers .
I have not seen this design before and it is a welcome change from the stereo type
French designs.
The initials D.R. have been embroidered in high relief and there are 2 sets in the centre
and sitting opposite each other.
The damask fabric is scattered all over with small posies of chestnut leaves.
Being a Jacquard weave the table linen can also be used reverse side which will give
a more vibrant "blood red" shade. Please see 5th photo.
All the edges are hand hemmed.
PLEASE NOTE:
There is a tiny hole which we have covered with a piece of " thermo collant".
See last photo. ( most probably due to hot ash fallen on the linen during smoking at the table)
