Item Description
This is a Japanese bronze vase from Takaoka, crafted in the traditional Takaoka Dōki (Takaoka bronze) style. The vase features a tall, elegantly flared neck and a bulbous lower body, finished in a stunning mottled green and reddish-brown patina that evokes a natural and organic aesthetic. The surface texture and coloration are characteristic of patination techniques often used in Takaoka metal crafts.
The piece is housed in its original signed wooden tomobako (storage box), which adds to its collectible value. While the artist is unidentified, the work demonstrates a refined level of craftsmanship typical of the Takaoka tradition.
There are no noticeable damages or restorations. The vase is in excellent condition overall, with signs of age and natural patina enhancing its character.
