A rare and impressive traditional tribal armlet from Central India, known locally as Vauk (also called Bajuband in Rajasthan).
Handcrafted from solid high-grade silver (tested 89%) with an intricate multi-wire braided structure and a large domed finial at the center — a typical feature of early Madhya Pradesh ornaments.
This piece was worn on the upper arm (not the wrist) as a ceremonial or festive adornment.
Its massive size and weight (approx. 145 g, 8 cm diameter, 4 cm width) suggest it was created for ritual or dowry purposes rather than daily wear.
The surface retains an attractive natural patina, characteristic of genuine early tribal silverwork. Cleaned only lightly to preserve authenticity.
Origin: Madhya Pradesh, Central India
Material: Silver, 89% purity (tested by XRF)
Dimensions: Ø 8 cm × 4 cm width
Weight: 143 g
Period: Late 19th – early 20th century
Condition: Very good antique condition, minor age-related wear consistent with use. No repairs.
A highly collectible example of traditional Indian tribal jewelry — substantial, finely handwoven, and beautifully preserved.
