The famous Wassily chair (model B3), created by designer Marcel Breuer in 1925 during his time at the Bauhaus. About the product Design: This is one of the most iconic pieces of furniture of the 20th century. Its construction was inspired by the frame of a bicycle and the principles of constructivism. Materials: The chair consists of a frame made of seamless, chrome-plated steel tubing. In this particular version, the upholstery is made of pony hide (or hairy cowhide). Name: Originally called the B3, the model was later named "Wassily" in honor of the artist Wassily Kandinsky, for whose Bauhaus apartment Breuer created one of the first pieces.According to MoMA, the Wassili Chair is one of the ten most important chairs of the 20th century. It received an award from the Museum of Modern Art in 1968 and was designated a "work of art" in (West) Germany in 1982. Condition: Very good, with minimal signs of use and some darkening on the frame (photo). Year: 1980s. Made in Italy. This piece has no manufacturer's markings or trademarks. The upholstery is made of genuine leather.Delivery. Due to its dimensions, the chair may be partially disassembled.
