Promissory note (slave letter) issued and signed by the governor of Sint Maarten as compensation to slave owners who had to free their slaves because of the abolishment of slavery in 1863.
This promissory note is numbered 124 and was signed on 20 October 1864. The amount on the note is 650 guilders.
Condition: The document is in fair condition with some folds and tears. The paper has stains.
