From 1974 to 1979 Marijke de Goey was educated at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She works in several fields of visual art: as a sculptor, environmental artist, jewellery designer and goldsmith.
De Goey designed, among other things, the cladding of trainsets for the Dutch Railways, bridges and squares. She regularly exhibits at home and abroad. She won several awards for her work In 1982 she received the Françoise van den Bosch Prize for her oeuvre.
