An industrial landscape is formed by individual objects. These individual objects have a distinctive and interesting shape that are worth being lifted out of that landscape.
These forms are an expression of technical and economic considerations, the technique leads to a certain design and architecture. Objects that are not designed to be beautiful, but are beautiful because of their functionality.
The inspiration for this photo series comes from the pioneers in this field, Bernd and Hilla Becher. They were the first to systematically photograph industrial landscapes and objects. I mainly want to show their beauty, by emphasising the structure and shape of the objects. I do this by using colour, however minimal, in my photos. That's how the images get my signature.
