Recorded: 30 May – 14 October 1968
Released: 22 Nov 1968
Label: Apple Records – PCS (PMC) 7067/7068
Cover: Very Good Plus (VG+)
Records: Very Good Plus (VG+) / Excellent (EX).
Both records have been fully listened to and the sound is very good without scratches or stutter.
This wonderful Beatles collectors item is known as ''The White Album'' because of its beautiful abstract and non-figurative cover artwork which was created by the artist Richard Hamilton in collaboration with Paul McCartney himself.
Early U.K. pressings of the ‘White Album’ are known to have a ‘blind embossed’ title on the front cover, just like the record included in this lot. Later releases showed the title in grey printed (instead of the embossed) letters. Also, first pressings open from the top of the gate-fold jacket sleeve, just like the release presented in this lot.
Misprint: This particular pressing is extra special because the label-texts of vinyl-LP's do not contain the commonly known texts that should have been printed on the label. The text ’An E.M.I Recording’ appears to be missing which is extremely rare!
The condition of this beautiful album is excellent. It comes with the original poster and 4 photos of the Beatles. Poster is glued together with adhesive tape.
The portrait photos were taken by John Kelly and are spotless, just like new.
'The White Album' was limited and the cover is numbered with a unique stamped serial number.
The number of this release is no. 0106802.
