Bennington American Revolutionary Flag - Embroidered Stars
The Bennington flag is a version of the American flag associated with the American Revolution Battle of Bennington, from which it derives its name. It is distinguished by the large '76' in the canton, a reference to the year 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed.
Condition - Good overall condition for its 49 year old age. It shows signs of wear consistent with its age. Please see all pictures to determine condition. Includes original care sheet and cardboard box.
Provenance - Flag comes from historic Fort Lee in northern New Jersey on the Hudson River.
Manufacturer - Manufactured by Dettra BullDog Flag Company. One of the oldest manufacturers of flags in the US. It was established in Pennsylvania in 1902 and closed in 1998. Includes original care sheet and cardboard box.
Material - 100% cotton bunting with embroidered star field, sewn stripes and brass grommets.
