A very special and early piece by Joost Swarte. This is an earthenware jar with a rabbit (earthenware) as a lid, holding a (plastic) leek in its mouth.
The jar has a height of 13 cm; approx. 25 cm tall including the lid.
The diameter is 11 cm. Signed in the clay at the bottom, the name "Joost Swarte" and "Eode 1988". With a beautiful craquelure in the pottery. A feast for the eyes and the display case.
This beautiful jar, expertly, almost invisibly restored by a renowned Dutch restoration studio with lid “konijn met prei” is almost never offered (the ears and the leek have been off). Please look closely at the photos and you will not see it.
The jar will be packaged more than excellently, with foam chips, bubble wrap and a box in a box, and shipped by insured post. If desired, the item can be collected from the ex-collector.
