A very delightful bed linen and again obtained from the chateau in Brantôme.
This bed linen still decked a beautiful bedroom at the chateau, but not used for a long time and as the lady owner was moving out to one of the 2 Lodges she decided to dispos of it. When we took the photos it had not been washed yet as we were pressed for time to enter the linen. This has now been done and is crisp and very white.
The colour blue reminds me of the old fashioned English Cornflower, very blue and also refreshing.
It would be good if it goes back into a blue bedroom.
The bed linen was made up in the workroom of the chateau by one of the couturières who also embroidered the linen we found out from the inventory book in 1948. Apparently she was allowed to embroider her names on it which were Lucia Benedicte. To highlight the colour blue we dressed it with two pillow cases with the fabric from Ralph Lauren, which unfortunately is not being printed any longer.
It has been very little used
