Roger Selden was born in Brooklyn, New York, on 20 March 1945, and studied painting with Isaac Soyer at the Brooklyn Museum from 1957 to 1962.
He attended the Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1966. During the summer of 1964 in Paris he studied painting with George Mc Neil and graphics with Antonio Frasconi. In 1966 he arrived in Italy, where he graduated in Rome in Fine Arts. Since 1971 he has been internationally represented by Galleria del Naviglio, Milan.
