The year 1673 is possibly changed from 1672. As a consequence of the attack on the Republic in 1672 by among others France, the 'Munt van Holland' was temporarily replaced to Amsterdam. Contrary to Dordrecht, Amsterdam was not occupied by the enemy and had enough precious metal available. After the threat had passed and the French had withdrawn, coin production resumed in late 1673 or early 1674. Unused coin stamps from 1672 were recut to 1673. Very rare.
