A very nice advertising strip for the Wegenwacht (roadside assistance). Made in the 1960s by Ben van Voorn. The item has been signed 2x by van Voorn.

Strip size: 37.5 x 13.5 cm

From 1948 to 1955, illustrator, painter and (graphic) artist Ben van Voorn worked for the studios of Marten Toonder. Even after moving to Yde in 1958, he made several comics for this studio until 1969. For the Bommel film “Als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel” he made the backgrounds and he worked on two French Asterix films. Van Voorn also illustrated comics, cartoons and book illustrations himself.

Ben van Voorn worked in various styles and with different materials and techniques; from elaborate paintings, smoothly designed watercolours and pen drawings to woodcuts and prints. Subjects are mainly landscape, still life and portrait, but also fairytale scenes.

The lot is in perfect condition.
