On offer is a hand-knotted Persian carpet, Sarough Mir
A Mir, the etymology of which can be traced back to the villages of the same name Mir and Mirshi in the south of Ardabil, is an oriental carpet knotted according to the Mir pattern. It is made in the West Persian regions of Sarough and Seraband.
The Mir pattern is a continuous field pattern and is also called Mir Boteh or flea pattern. It repeats on a red, dark blue or, more rarely, cream-coloured background.
Please look at the carpet with patience and attention. Each handmade
carpet is unique in its design, beauty and colour harmony and therefore
a work of art in itself.
