An extremely rare and extraordinary high quality antique Chinese porcelain double-bodied cruet bottle with a central decoration of many insects above many florals in continuous landscape, executed in a nice underglaze blue and white. In the border a classical decoration of zig zag lines and lotus roots. Handcrafted in ancient China during the Qing dynasty, Kangxi period (ca. 1690). Guaranteed original and of the stated period.

- A similar one remains in the collection of August the Strong, Dresden, inv. no. PO 2339, illustrated in Meissener Blaumalerei Aus Drei Jahr Hunderten, exh. cat., Leipzig, 1989, pp. 126-27, no. 3. The cruet was recorded under number 479 and a zig-zag line (the symbol applied to blue and white porcelain) in the 1779 inventory of the Japanese Palace.

Condition: The object is in overall good condition, normal glaze fritting to the sprouts; one with a short hairline, the other with a shallow flake. Without any other damages or any restorations. The condition is carefully checked with strong UV-light and bright translucent white light, also under the silver mounts.
