Car =
The CTA-Arsenal is a French racing car which was developed by the Centre for the study of car and cycle technology then abbreviated as CTA but today renamed as the UTAC and constructed by Arsenal at Châtillon. The promoter of this project, raising funds from the French Governmente was Raymond Sommer; the car was intended as the French "national single seat racing car" to compete against Alfa Romeo but the project was abandoned because the car proved incapable of finishing the races in which it was scheduled to appear.
Engine =
The CTA-Arsenal Grand Prix car was powered by a 1.5-liter, supercharged V8 engine designed by Albert Lory. This engine, built by Arsenal, had a 90-degree V configuration, four overhead camshafts, and two Roots superchargers. It initially produced 215 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, with later versions reportedly reaching 260-275 bhp at 7,500-8,000 rpm.
