At Catawiki we want to ensure that the items in our auctions reflect the unique, harder to find objects of value that bidders are looking for.
This is why we have set per category a minimum estimated value a lot should achieve in auction in order to be admitted.
During lot evaluation our in-house Experts carefully review and select admittable items, considering various aspects and product characteristics that determine the quality and influence the value an item is expected to sell for in our auctions.
At Catawiki we auction photographs made by both reputable and recognised photographers of the 19th & 20th century, to the emerging talent of the 21st century.
For our Photography auctions we look for and curate:
- Scarce photographs & rare photomechanical prints that are not widely available on the market
- Photographs that are made by recognized & reputed photographers
- Photographs of historical or photo-historical value/subject matter that is appealing to collectors
- Photographs clearly attributed by a signature (imprinted) or stamp from the photographer or an acknowledged representative and that is in good condition at minimum
