Two 20th century Fijian Ula throwing clubs. Fijian men always had 2-3 of these shorter throwing clubs tucked into their fibre waist belt. They had several different styles on top from a spherical ball head to lobed & gadrooned head.
The first is a heavy root wood throwing club with carved decoration on handle and inscribed MCSAKC. Length is 390mm.
The second is a throwing club with carved chevron decoration on handle. 385mm
I am not sure of the age or provenance. They were acquired as part of a larger auction lot more than 20 years ago.
