This mask was used in Bali, Indonesia during Barong Bangkung dances.
Barong Asu portrays Barong in the shape of the dog. Barong Asu is catalogued as a rare Barong. It only occurs in some villages in Tabanan and Badung.
This Barong is used by two dancers, as head and tail.
The Barong Asu only takes to the stage during special occasions and is accompanied by Gamelan Batel, Tetamburan or Belenganjur.
