I offer 2 very large hagoita wooden paddles with oshie made geisha holding a drum and fan.

Hagoita are rectangular wooden paddles, used to play hanetsuki a traditional Japanese game, similar to badminton without a net and using a brightly coloured shuttlecock. This tradition dates to the 17th century, and although the game itself is now rarely played, crafting decorative hagoita is still commonplace especially as a new year lucky gift.

Oshie is a traditional technique using pieces of Japanese kimono fabric and cotton batting that are used to create beautiful doll pictures. Individual parts of the image are formed by creating small "shaped" puffy pillows and then pieced together.

Dated 1977 based, the paper describes the hagoita tradition.
