Good condition, see description

The spread of tobacco and the use of the water pipe in India was rapid and wide enough to condition the costume of the time and consider the huqqas real status symbols.
This lost-wax brass fusion hookah is native to Dhenkanal, the capital of Dhenkanal district in the state of Orissa, one of the most famous places for processing brass performed with the lost wax method and known as Dhokra. The artisans of Sithulias, Ghaniaram, Thatarian and Gharien tribes have been handing down for centuries the secrets of the trade of metal foundrymen.
The territory of these areas is covered with dense forest that is home to elephants, tigers and other wildlife: zoomorphic representations on handicrafts are part of the aesthetic heritage of this extraordinary culture.
Dhenkanal was a royal state until the independence of India.
