Short profile of the Yamaha DRX-2: The continuation of the successful DVD recorder story at Yamaha is called the DRX-2. The second generation device offers video and audio quality at the highest level. The Yamaha DRX-2 is the only DVD+R/RW recorder to date that allows recording up to two hours of sound in linear, uncompressed PCM format. Based on the DVD+R/RW format, the DRX-2 supports six different recording modes. Depending on the image and sound quality selected, up to 6 hours of film can be stored on a DVD+R/RW medium. Thanks to the Fit to Space Recording function, the Yamaha DRX-2 automatically selects the best recording quality depending on the available media capacity. This means that the program to be recorded always fits on the blank DVD without wasting capacity or having to accept any loss of quality. As a playback device, the DRX-2 also offers numerous convenient functions, high image quality and best compatibility with all types of DVD media. The recorder also plays VCDs, SVCDs and audio CDs from CD-R and CD-RW blanks. Digital video sources such as digital camcorders or a PC can also be connected via the i.LINK interface on the front of the housing. Even conventional video recorders can be connected to the Yamaha DRX-2 via an analog interface. Yamaha mentions the following advantages of the DVD+RW format in its advance information:

Discs that are recorded on a DVD+RW recorder can be played on almost all DVD-Video and DVD-ROM players on the market today (over 35 million), and this will also apply in the future. However, DVD-RAM discs cannot be played on commercial DVD-Video players.

Unlike other formats, DVD+RW only has one recording mode. This ensures the full DVD-Video compatibility of DVD+RW as all the features that the format uses are always available on all players. With DVD-RW, however, you have to choose a recording mode (video or VR mode) before each recording.

DVD-RW discs that were recorded in VR mode can no longer be edited (re-recorded or deleted).

DVD+RW does not have to be formatted in a time-consuming manner after recording.

DVD+RW/+R drives are also widely

used in computers Used: Condition Good flawless
The unit shows very light signs of use and powers up into initial mode. I do NOT have a remote control to complete set up so you will need to buy one. The DVD recorder can be controlled with the remote of your Yamaha receiver.
There is no warranty or guarantee on this product as I am unable to fully test her.
International packing and shipping are provided with a double box method for safety.
