Auctioning your car with Catawiki is free. The only cost is the Seller’s Commission, which you will incur after the sale of your car.
The standard commission rate for selling a car with an estimated value lower than €10,000 is 12.5%. Commission rates are reduced proportionally to the increased value of the car - the higher the value, the lower the commission. Commission rates are in some cases also negotiable if you submit multiple cars. Use our commission calculator for a quick estimate.
We’ve helped some truly incredible cars find new homes.

Your payments are scheduled based on whether the car has been shipped or picked up by the buyer, and on the payment frequency that has been selected in your account settings.
If the car has been shipped: Change the order status to 'Shipped'. When the tracking number provided shows that the car has been delivered, the buyer will receive a notification asking them to inspect the car and report any issues within 3 days. On the 4th day after delivery, payment will be scheduled according to the selected payment frequency.
If the car has been picked up: Change the order status to 'Picked up'. There is a 14 day waiting period from the day you update the order status to the time you can receive your payment. After the 14-day waiting period, the exact payment date will depend on the payment frequency selected in your account settings.
You may review or change your payment frequencies by clicking here.
Your expected payment date can also be found in your payment confirmation email. Please note that payments are only processed on working days and not weekends.
A ‘reserve price’ is the minimum price for selling at auction. Auctions without a reserve price can attract up to 76% more bidders. More bidders means more competition which can result in a higher selling price.
Our in-house experts consider and select every car to ensure every auction meets the Catawiki standard of quality and continues to attract passionate bidders.

First, a claim will be opened and payment will be postponed. The buyer will be given a deadline for providing substantial evidence supporting their claim. If proof is not provided within the given timeframe, the claim will be closed and the frozen payment will be released.
If you are a professional seller, buyers may exercise the right of withdrawal. For more information on this, please read our Right of Withdrawal Policy.
It is possible to request new plates and registration through Clubs or Associations (FMI, ASI). They will need to inspect the car and you will need to provide them with a sales contract and declaration of ownership.
