(Nikkan) Model: FL-23 Country of Manufacture: Japan (stamped "JAPAN") Features: Nikkan later became a management subsidiary of Yamaha (Nippon Gakki Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), and was eventually merged with the company. This model is considered the prototype or base model for current Yamaha flutes. Made of nickel silver, it was popular as a student model for beginners to intermediate players. Nickel silver instruments are resistant to tarnishing and rust. Today, it is often treated as a vintage flute, and due to its solid construction, it is still highly regarded as fully playable with proper maintenance. Condition There are some minor scratches and discoloration (dullness) due to use, but it is in good condition and stored in its case.
