southern iron kettle - Teiera - Ottone fuso, Ghisa - pentola di ferro del Sud
A Japanese cast-iron kettle (teke) with the inscription "Zarokuzo" engraved on the bottom of the copper lid, highlighting traditional southern Japanese iron craftsmanship. The body of the pot is square with raised relief patterns of butterflies and streamers, set against a rock-like textured base. The handle is designed as a curved copper branch with a plum blossom pattern, while the lid has a sterling silver lotus bud-shaped knob on top.
This iron kettle measures approximately 16×12×20 cm and weighs 1.8 kg. It is in good preservation condition with no obvious rust or damage. The cast iron surface shows a warm patina, and the copper and silver parts have a natural luster. Suitable for use in tea ceremonies and as decorative collectibles, it embodies the rustic yet elegant nature of Japanese iron pot art.
