Johnny Round-The-World was the sunday comic creation of William LaVarre, a popular world-traveling explorer of some note. The hero of the strip was Johnny Jupiter the young son of Major Jupiter, South American Explorer. Johnny went on his adventures equipped with a Zoom Camera which looks more like a Buck Rogers Zap Gun than a camera. As the action moved across jungle settlements, a picture of native life would get taken (by Johnny). There wasn't a lot of action in the stories, the strip acted more as a tour of the country and its natives. This snapshot within the strip was the novelty of the strip, but the classic 1930's artwork on the strip was also visually appealing. Coupled with the mystique of the LaVarre name, it makes for a strip that collectors find very appealing. The run of the strip was short (1935-37) so supply is pretty tight. Printed as mostly as Tabs or Halfs, both sell very well at a high premium. Will be shipped with track&trace. The lots in this auction can be shipped combined. This is taken into account up to a weight of 5 kg. If packages need to be split due to weight, an additional charge will apply. In this case, we will contact you. #specialcollectionservice
