Hutschenreuther, Heinrich - Heinrich Fuchs - Vaso (3) - Arcaico - Porcellana biscuit

Dear Bidders, thank you for your interest in my offer. I'm offering here a striking set of three sculptural white porcelain vases from Germany, dating from the 1960s–1970s. The two vases on the left were produced by Lorenz Hutschenreuther and designed by Heinrich Fuchs (1928–2013), one of the most distinctive figures in post-war German porcelain design. Fuchs worked for Hutschenreuther during the late 1960s and became particularly known for his celebrated Archais series, characterized by bold geometric reliefs, experimental surfaces and strong Op Art influences. The tallest vase on the right was produced by Heinrich Porzellan, Selb, another renowned German porcelain manufacturer with a long tradition of high-quality porcelain production. Executed in monochrome white porcelain, all three pieces share a highly architectural and sculptural aesthetic. Their deeply modelled surfaces create a dramatic interplay of light and shadow, combining Mid-Century Modern, Op Art and Brutalist influences. Together they form a particularly harmonious and visually powerful group of German modernist porcelain design from the 1960s–1970s. SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS: Hutschenreuther, founded in 1814 in Bavaria, is one of Germany’s most prestigious porcelain manufacturers, recognized for its high-quality craftsmanship and timeless design. On 1 August 2000 the Hutschenreuther “Lion Brand” was brought under the umbrella of the Rosenthal Group, uniting two of northern Bavaria’s historic porcelain names and strengthening Rosenthal’s position as a leader in high-quality porcelain. Heinrich Porzellan was founded by porcelain painter Franz Heinrich in Selb, Bavaria. He began decorating porcelain in 1896 and established his own porcelain production in 1901. The company developed into one of Germany’s important porcelain manufacturers and became part of Villeroy & Boch in 1976. Heinrich was particularly known for high-quality German porcelain and refined modern designs.
