S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Grand Modèle lighter from the Art Nouveau Limited Edition, introduced in 1993 and produced in only 4,000 individually numbered examples. This lighter is numbered 0316/4000, making it an early-numbered example from the series. The Art Nouveau collection was inspired by the work of French architect and designer Hector Guimard, particularly his celebrated entrances for the Paris Métro. Flowing decorative lines extend across the front, back and sides of the lighter, creating one of the most distinctive S.T. Dupont designs of the 1990s. The lighter combines genuine deep-green Chinese lacquer with a gold-plated finish. The contrast between the lacquer and the sculpted decoration emphasises the organic forms characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. Condition The lighter is preserved in excellent overall vintage condition. The Chinese lacquer retains its deep green colour and glossy finish, with no cracks or chips. The gold-plated elements show only light signs consistent with careful use and the age of the piece. The engraved decoration remains crisp and the individual number 0316/4000 is clearly visible. It ignites reliably, produces a regular soft yellow flame and holds gas correctly, with no leaks. When opened, it produces the clear and resonant “ping” characteristic of the Ligne 2.
