Olympus OM-1N + G.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.4 Fotocamera analogica
OLYMPUS OM-1N + G.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.4, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Olympus OM-1N is the final refinement of the camera that changed what a professional SLR could be. Yoshihisa Maitani's OM-1 of 1972 was dramatically smaller and lighter than its rivals yet gave up nothing in build quality, and its enormous, brilliant viewfinder is still among the best ever fitted to a 35mm SLR. The 1979 OM-1N added flash-ready confirmation in the finder and the Shoe 4 accessory shoe for the T-series flashes, while keeping the fully mechanical shutter that works without batteries. The G.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.4 fitted here is the fast standard lens of the system, a seven-element design praised for its sharpness and its warm, gentle rendering wide open.
Important — please read carefully:
There is fungus in the lens and the prism shows the deterioration typical of this model, visible as a faint band in the viewfinder. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, distinct signs of use or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Fungus: Fungus present in the lens — see photos.
Finder: The prism shows the deterioration common to this model: a faint band is visible in the viewfinder. Focusing is unaffected.
Functional
The camera operates properly — see the measured shutter figures below (1/0.9 at 1s, 1/59 at 1/60, 1/858 at 1/1000).
The meter is accurate: about +0.1 EV at EV12 and +0.3 EV at EV15.
The viewfinder and lens have been cleaned internally and the light seals replaced.
The OM-1N is fully mechanical: the shutter works without a battery, and a battery is needed only for the meter.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/0.9 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- 1/60 — measured 1/59 s (on the mark)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/858 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.1 OVER / EV15: 0.3 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Known Issues
1. There is fungus in the lens (see photos). It is a fast 50mm f/1.4 that still takes pictures, but expect some loss of contrast against strong light.
2. The pentaprism shows the silvering deterioration typical of the OM series — a faint band is visible in the viewfinder. It does not affect focusing or the recorded image.
