Edmond-paul Gruet (1863-1904) - Alare (3) - Set di parafiamma neoclassico in stile Luigi XVI per camino - Bronzo dorato - Andironi in stile Luigi XVI
A French Louis XVI neoclassical Style Bronze modular three-piece heart set including side chenets/terminals with urn motifs and an interlocking pierced balustrade fender bar.
It features a prominent flaming torch-form and urn finial suspended with swags, transitioning via a balustrade-bar pierced gallery to a smaller secondary urn terminal on a square pedestal base.
The lower ends end with small Athenians urns topped with moving pull rings.
This type of fireplace front is often adjustable and modular into three distinct parts (the central bar and the two ends forming chenets) to adapt to the width of the hearth.
Stamped with E.G on the inner side in reference to
E. Gruet Jeune who was a renowned bronze art foundry active in Paris from 1891 to 1910, founded by the bronze caster Edmond-Paul Gruet (1863-1904) and later managed by his widow. The workshop produced numerous sculptures for prominent artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Also Known for having edited and cast works by major artists held in international museums, as evidenced by the records of the Musée d'Orsay and the Art Institute of Chicago.
