This Bowie knife was released by The Western Heritage Museum and is made of tempered steel with a poignant scene from the American civil war on the blade.
This civil war Bowie knife is a unique tribute to the countless soldiers who fought and died in a war that tested the constancy of the American Union and a beautiful tribute to the legendary knives and who were named after a American hero, Jim Bowie.

The American Civil War also known as the War Between the States was a four-year conflict from 1861 to 1865 in the United States between the Northern States (the Union) and the southern States (the Confederacy). In many states bloody battles and campaigns took place. The war began with an attack on Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861. The battle of Bull Run on July 21, 1861 was the first major battle. The was virtually over after the surrender of General Robert E. Lee after the battle of Appomattox in April 1865. The last battle took place on 13 May 1865 at Palmito Ranch in Texas. In June the South surrendered and the Union forces won. There were an estimated 618,000 dead and 500,000 wounded.

The entire set is in very good to mint condition.
