Maker Robert Pringle. Robert Pringle (1800-1875)
He founded a workshop as a silversmith in London in 1935. His silver mark was R P & Co L. He died there in 1878. His son also called Robert, succeeded him and changed the name to Robert Pringle & Son in 1882.
The bonbonnière consists of a frosted glass tray of 4 x 11 x 13, a carrying frame and lid. The carrying frame is richly decorated. Garlands are engraved in the lid and fern leaves and a fish are screwed on the lid. Inside the lid is the brand and part number 904. In the silver layer there is still scratching: L/x, R P A.N.
